Behind the Iconostasis

The Anastasis, modeled after that in the Chora, was the first to be completed in preparation for the consecration of the altar area.

The Pantokrator is at center, with hierarchs at either side.

There is significant stencilling and gilding throughout, a theme echoed in subsequent murals.
